Exclamation 300sdl whine...

When I really hit the throttle and stomp it, I hear like a scream/whining noise coming from what sounds like is the drivers side engine.

I don't believe it's the turbo, it sounds more like metal scraping very rapidly. Any and ALL help is appreciated! Thank you!

It could be your alt or water pump. Remove the belt and spin the accessories.

AC compressor is on the driver's side but the clutch should disengage when off, and not make a noise but clutches have been known to fail

Could be anything, its hard to tell exactly where a noise is coming from sometimes.

For your sake I hope its not the compressor, they are freaken expensive!

I might check my motor mounts. The heavy torque just might be forcing something into contact if they are bad. A temporary brace might eliminate it as a possibility if nothing else is found from suggestions on your thread. Usually a noisy belt is there even on moderate acceleration but a thought as well. Actually usually hard to suggest or locate unless a person hears the noise in person.

It sounds like a high pitched scream. Maybe a leak somewhere?

exhaust or intake leak will cause the turbo sound to be more prominent.

I know someone else who had a gas engined 126 with a whine in it. Once she got some of the major repairs behind her, the whining stopped.

Have you pulled the belt off yet to check?
