1985 300d differential removal help
i need to remove the differential from an 1985 300d. i have read that there are two "c" clips that hold the axel shafts in but i can see them when i remove the diff cover. are they easily recognized or am i just blind?

They are not real difficult to see
I believe also that mine had a slight blue look to them. Follow your axle shaft into the differential, and the clips are on each axle shaft right at the very end. If you still can't see them, put the trans in neutral unless the flex disc is already disconnected. Then slowly rotate the axle shaft while looking for the clip. The clip has a slightly enlarged backpart. I think that is made so that you can easier get a needle nose plier on it to pull it out. Also, I think the writeup that Jeremy did on replacing the half shafts( in the DIY section) has a picture showing the clip with that little tab showing. It is a pretty thin clip, probably only a 1/16 inch wide. Once you find it you'll say, Oh My, and I missed that! You might say more, but that's a start.
