I can see it now, one day we will have a trunk that converts into a toilet. stop at the rest area, open the trunk, sit down and ***** right in the tank. Thats just funny.
But seriously, it is good that people are seriously looking at alternative sources. OPEC doesnt want to help us out, Venezuala sure doesnt, we are going to have to do things on our own.

My God! China and India will have booming economies for sure once Doo-sel fuel becomes popular. They'll become the new Middle East.

Quote:
There are villages in India that collect the cow dung and pile it up and run their cooking stoves on the methane. When auto fuel hits $5, then maybe Americans will be willing to pile up poop in the back yard to heat the house.

I know everyone loves a poop joke, myself included, but doesn't this process actually have more to do with the plastics in the diapers rather than the poo itself?

Yes it has alot to do with the plastic.
Here is an article a couple of years ago about this. http://www.gizmag.com/go/4534/ But there are processes that also convert biomass... Not sure if poop actually is considered a biomass, but it seems to me it would. http://biopact.com/2007/09/dynamotive-demonstrates-fast-pyrolysis.html Poultry Power http://www.biodieselnow.com/forums/p/18149/134568.aspx#134568 Dog Poop into biofuel http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/03/0321_060321_dog_power_2.html

Oh. I figured this had something to do with methane or something like that. Well, waste plastic seems to be pretty abundant here, so we should be in good shape if this ever becomes an option.
