Question ABS light remains on, Tach not working.....

For a couple of minutes after I start my 86 300sdl. During this time, basic Idle is strong and good, but there's a roughness that ends only after what is best described as a mehanical "Fluffle" sound, the light goes out and the tach reengages. I've driven it during this period ( Usually a block or so ) and all else is normal. Help?

I bet your over-voltage protection relay is dying. My car had the same symptoms till the abs-tach-electronic idle wouldn't come alive anymore.

I went to a junk yard bought another one and it works just fine now.
1992 Mercedes 190D 2.5 turbo 5sp manual. EGT+boost gauges. Boost controller set to ~14.5 psi. 1 1/4 turns on full load adjustment. LPG injection. Next in the list is water injection.

Thank You- sorry it took so long to get back. Seems as if the problem has gone away for the meanwhile, 'tho it does pop up every now and then. I really should just get a shop manual.....
