124 TYC headlight fitment?

I've been raving about the TYC headlights I got for the 300D but there's a gap between the grill and the headlights that has me puzzled. These headlights went on before I checked if there was an engine under the hood so I don't remember how the old headlights fit.

If I put my face beside a headlight and look across the grill, I can see daylight between the grill and aux fan. Is this typical?

Looks like your grill is actually sticking out too far. Whether that's due to the grill itself or the hood, I'm not sure ... looks like maybe the whole cowling is a little warped? I believe there are also rubber gaskets along the inside of the grill area that meet the sides of the grill alongside the headlamps. It's been a while since I've played with the grill, so I'd have to take a closer look at my car.

Looks like there is something wrong....

Here are pics of my 300D in its old color before the 95 'conversion'

No huge gaps like yours, i had DEPO euro's though. Did you screw in the bolt on fog lamp side of the headlight? I know i would get that gap if i didnt screw that in.

IIRC I got all the screws in just as they were with the original lights. gsxr says to make sure I use all the slack to move the headlights forward. I think maybe the hood is set too far forward but the latch works properly.

I'll have to go by your place to compare. Do you still have the rest of the lugs?

That makes sense (responce to gsxr) there could be a bit room that you could pull the headlight up closer so they fit better. You sure your grill isnt bent?

Stop by when you can! and yes i still have the lugs
