Air breather Accumulator oil leak
I'm sure the solution to my problem is in the links above, but I'm too new to fixing my car to know the proper terminology. I may even be in the wrong thread. In any case, here's my problem.
I just bought a 1982 300TD and noticed oil leaking after I parked it. After poking around a little, it looks like there's an oil overflow hose that comes out of the top of the engine and goes into the air filter compartment. There's some kind of metal device inside the air filter compartment that the hose dumps into. The leak is somewhere in there, having spread motor oil throughout the air filter compartment and onto the air filter itself. What is the proper name of the hose that goes from the engine into the air filter compartment if I need to buy a replacement? What is the metal device in the air filter compartment called and what does it do? |
