rear seat install in w123

I know this belongs in interior but i posted over there and no-one seems to use that forum...

so quick question. how do you install the rear seats in a w123? I tried back first then bottom, cant get the bottom in, then bottom first and back, cant get the back in. seems like back first is right but I just cant get the driver side to go in far enough to latch

I have always replaced the back of the seat first, then secure the side brackets with the screws. The bottom seat portion slides in rear most end first. Are your seat belts in the way? I'll email the FSM pages if you need them.

I have found that bouncing on the front edge in a backwards direction usually pops mine into place. You are right, though, the back end does go in first.

I knew I forgot a step! Your small children can help with the bouncing!

The back has to be done first or you will not be able to install the screws.

There are screws for the seat back, not the seat bottom. The seat bottom just snaps in.
