Turbo swap question

I see some slight external differences in the turbo assembly from an earlier 617-952 and the '84 300D that I'm working on. I have swapped the head/manifolds/turbo as a unit from an earlier version 917-912 onto this later block. QUESTION IS: Will this earlier turbo assy. be OK for the '84 even though it looks different externally? I'm just about to stuff this motor/trans so it would pretty easily change out the turbos now, if it should be done? Secondary question: Anyone see any other difficulties with this head swap in general?

Anyone know if there is a MBZ parts fiche on line anywhere?

They used two diffrent turbos on the 617's both will fit. One is a kkk turbo. and one is a t3? i belive garret. the kkk turbo will spool faster but it levels off quicker also, the t3 spools slightly slower, but also has a higher output level. both great bullet proof turbos.
