Changing to LED's question?
I would like to change my dash cluster lights to LED's. How do I cross over to make sure that I am getting the correct kind that will fit into the incandescent sockets in the dash?
In other words, what is the connector type for the dash lights? Twist in, press in, etc.? Right now, I only plan on changing the dash lights so I can see the dash at night. Thanks. Kurt

The turn signal lights and reserve fuel light are the only ones that will benefit from LED. The cluster lighting will be worse than stock with LED lights. I've tried it and the two I recommended are the only ones I left in. I changed the lighting to 3W white light bulbs.
The lights press into holders which twist into the cluster. |

Any more advice?
I need to do this change. One of mine burned out.
Is it hard to get to the cluster to get the light bulbs changed? Also, where would I find the bulbs (autozone???) I am going to do a search, on painting the bulb surround white I think it is to get a better deflection of light... Any advice

I purchased my LEDs from LEDlight.com and am very happy with the result. They fit with no modification and are MUCH brighter. They have 4 side firing and 1 front firing LED. These are the brightest LEDs I've tried. Here's a direct link:LED dash bulbs
Here's a photo of my cluster with the LEDs installed.

I think he is referring to using a wrench to hold the nut that is attached to the dash, then loosen the oil line fitting to remove.

I like this write up on Rusty's site. Seems like there was another similar to this somewhere?
