low milage diesel owners, how much of your car is the original parts?

I am just thinking very tentatively about whether it is worth it to keep my SD and replace all the deteriorating front end parts, or whether in the long run, it would be better to save up a little, sell and spend a little more on a different car with 100K less miles on it and have less to worry about and parts that won't be failing all the time.

Is there a good chance they will just wear out soon anyway on a car of similar vintage regardless of milage?

I know it might not all entirely have to do with mileage, but a certain amount of it must have to do with the actual wear and tear vs. brittle old rubber, etc.

Those of you with cars in the 100k-150k range, how much of your car is the original equipment, and how much of it has been repaired/replaced?

Chet, unless you're looking at a car mfd within the past few years, I think age is going to be a major factor when attempting to predict what's gonna fail. I'm starting to replace rubber bits and pieces on my '99 diesel (66k miles) 'cause they're no longer doing the job they were designed for.

Also: "Better the devil you know..." ;)

i would assume most of the parts on my car are still original parts.
my care has like 167 thousand on it i am replacing parts now because i am sure it sat. also due to the fact i live in the desert it is a good idea to replace a bunch of the rubber. everyhthing you replace hopefully means you dont have to do it later.
