They are not.

IF you are referring to new MB cars. The CDI injectors are made in Germany, as I'm told by suppliers in Germany. The high pressure pump, made in Italy. Bosch still supports old designs but they're coming from India and Brazil.

Since 1995 I have used made in Brazil nozzles in my 82 Volvo diesel and they are comparable to the German made nozzles of for the same vehicle (same as VW Rabbit non-turbo diesel nozzles but different opening pressure). However I have herd nothing good about the made in India nozzles. I believe that Bosch will eventually sort out the quality control issures. But, I assuming that they want to.

I guess I should add

There are companies other than Bosch in Germany still making old design nozzles and complete injectors, TUV and ISO certified.

I know of Bosio, Monark (they say you should replace as a set) and I am using Italian nozzles made by 7 Diesel. (I recently put the 7 diesel nozzles in my Volvo also).
Who else makes nozzles for mercedes?
If you know of any other manufacturers please post it. In the past the English companies CAV and Bryce also used to make (I what I believe were better quality) many nozzles for the same applications as that of the Bosch nozzles but most of the time the Bosches were cheaper. 1986 was my last time working in a fuel injection shop; alot has happend since that time.

Monark is likely the largest, Kolbenschmidt-Pierburg (now owned by Reinmetal AG) Delphi (but most of their operations are in France and UK) I'm missing a couple and will think of them when I least expect it (or hit the submit button.)

By looking at the injector itself, How can you tell if it is made in India, Germany, or Ipjabip?

The upper portion of the injector body is the only part that has writing. Part of the writing will tell you where injector body is made. It will not tell you where the nozzle is made. If you buy a rebuilt Bosch injector it may say on the box where the parts are made or it may just be a list. Something like; assembled with parts from German, France, Brazil, India or Ipjabip and it would not say exactly where the components were made. I guess if it is rebuilt by Bosch the best you can say is that the nozzle came from one of their own suppliers.
As a side note Completely New Monark injectors are sold by at least 2 of the parts companies for around $80 each. It is another German based company but I don't know where their nozzles are made.

Monark are made in Germany (Hamburg) and have supported heavy industry and ship builders since 1951, small engines since the mid '50s.

BUT, there is a nasty impostor out there.

There is a company called "Monark Engineering Corporation" from Mumbai, India. The logo is similar but if you look closely at the crown - the genuine article is vertical on the sides, the impostor curves outward. The company in Mumbai is stating affiliation with Federal Mogul/Fram, F.P. Diesel and Allied Signal UK.

The company in Hamburg is actually called "Monark Diesel GmbH" and usually has their labels and shipping boxes marked with yellow.

UNLESS India has similar import tariff laws as the US. Unfinished products are imported with less tax....?

New cars in the EU and USA (CDI motors) the pumps are made in Italy and the injectors in UK (Delphi) and Germany (Bosch). I don't speak for India but when I lived in Germany 99% of the car parts there were made there.
