'87 300D, what axle ratio
Does this have the 2.65:1 or the 2.88:1 ?

All W124 diesels in the USA have a 2.65 ratio, from 1987-1993. Only the 1995 E300 has a different ratio... that has 2.87 gears.

Doesn't the 95 have a different trans that makes up for the 2.88? Don't remember if it has a 5-speed auto or the old 4. Or does it just have that rear end to compensate for the lack of a turbo?
