it's totalled......

so it finally met it's end... at only 10 mph my son smacked into the back of an suv ..no one injured ...but the bad news..

left front all smashed in oil cooler cracked.. all oil lost/spit out over the engine.. radiator and supports etc all pushed back.. hood and grill all folded upwards...
bumper was untouched -

but what a pity .. the engine was running great and it just had new rear brakes and left upper control arm and a couple of other things new.

what a great parts car it would make...but no space here so likely it will go to the boneyard

'der taxi' is gone ...merry christmas ...

So sorry to hear the bad news man. Do you have any pics of the car. I know it's a bit painful, but we're all a little curious...Good luck though, and I hope you find a suitable replacement for her. Perhaps even get a chance to upgrade...

Nick

Sorry and glad it was not worse.

Let a day pass, take a breath and review the possibilities of fixing it.

you know i'd like to tackle the job but no place to do it. economically to have the work done i don't think makes any sense. we could probably buy 2 300D's for what the body/mechanical work would cost...

That's very bad news, Bob.

You've made quite an effort to maintain that vehicle and it somewhat of a kick in the stomach when someone else is careless with it.

I agree that the time and money involved is not worth the effort.

I'll try to resist making comments on who should pay for such damage..........

Thats why my sister drives our minivan....because we don't care if it gets trashed, in fact, it'd be a blessing. Because then we could collect blue book insurance on it and get a better car....like an old buick (reliable, easy to fix) or a toyota or something...anything thats not-chrysler.
