Air pump / compressor for under $100

What do you guys think about this?

http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/shop/CPM-PMC8144.html

Or maybe like an actual air compressor, but very small.

They will do the job to inflate a tire at the side of the road or during occassional use, but don't expect much more than that out of it. They're just junky chinese oil-less high-rpm compressors. I have a little one in my trunk too. I have used it one time to help a friend pump their tire back up....haven't needed it myself though. Then again mine was only $14, so....I know it works, and it's there if I need it. Not a bad thing to have in the trunk.

What pawoSD said... Its useful for airing up tires and thats about it. Even at that one job its good for it will take a good 5 mins to air up a single tire. I'd get one that plugs into a cigarette lighter though. There is no need to pay for the batteries.

I also have one in my trunk...

Yes, air up a tire and that is it.

I'm lazy, I have a can of fix a flat. I absolutely HATED that stuff when I was doing tires at Wal-Mart but you can't deny it's convenience and cost. But then again, I keep my spare tire maintained in good condition anyways.

An expensive flashlight really.

I've owned a few different mini air compressors and believe me you get what you pay for and they are expensive for no more than you get. A better bet is to lean toward those designed for truck tires such as this one: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2012883/c-10101/Nty-1/p-2012883/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10101/tf-Browse/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=air+compressor

It will last longer and I believe you will be happier with the money you've spent.

I bought that one. Plus the accessory kit, etc and an inflator with gauge. It was for my friend.
