Injector return line
91 350 SDL
Does anyone have the part number for the injector return lines or where I may get the hose to cut up myself? I want to order from Diesel Giant but I really need to fix today! One of the return lines has broken in half rendering the car useless. I am also having some difficulty with my dealers parts counter. He said that maybe I should make an appt. to have it looked at because he has never heard of injector return lines on any M-B diesel before! I think really the parts guy can't tell the difference between muffler bearings and headlight fluid!

Somebody here has written that small 2 cycle engine clear fuel hose will work. I'd simply take a piece of the hose to the dealer if you need it today. Surely they have some despite the ignorance of the parts manager.

I'd say an appointment sounds like good advice, actually. When was the last time you had your muffler bearings greased and a headlight fluid flush/refill?
Very important.

just go down to the dealer again and describe to the parts man. its tiny cloth braided 3.2mm lines. Also if that doesn't help then tell him to go get a tech. he will know what it is.

Try:
A 615 476 03 26 or 605-78-05-81 either number should get you what you need. Get at least a meter. Should be about 28 bucks. Sorry 'bout your parts guy. The guys at the dealer here kick butt!

I have had clear PVC line on my injector returns for the last few thousand miles and it is working out fine. It may not be a permanent fix (for you), but it will work for now.

cloth wrapped rubber FUEL/Diesel or Vacuum hose or line 3.5mm ID X 2.0mm, Made in Germany.
I have used that brightly colored in my case orange silicone vacuum line. I had it on for at least 1 year but when I needed to remove it, it was rock hard and could not be reused. Rubber vacuum line works from 3 days to 1 week before it eats up. That may be enough time to get your shipment from diesel gaint. Volkswagen dealers also sell the injector retun hose as the older VW rabbits have similar injector bodies. It may be slightly cheaper to get it from them instead of mercedes. stocked under the VW number N 20 252 5 but Mercedes uses the same hose as well as many others who use Bosch Diesel injection. Ounce you get your imediate problem solved look on Ebay and buy a several extra feet it is usually around $2.50 a foot there. That way you will not end up paying thet $28/meter the next time. Injector End Cap
Now, what to do about my leaking end cap? As it turns out that was my problem after all! I obtained enough return line for a lifetime it seems. All lines have since been replaced but upon doing so I believe the real source has been uncovered. My end cap/ plug is spewing all over the place. So much that my hood pad fell down. Is there a way to make my own? Do I have to wait for a replacement? What about a short piece of line with a screw or something just big enough to stop the fuel off? This would only be an interim solution.

That's a permanent solution in my mind.

I do the same thing; shot piece of return line a fine threaded screw slightly larger than the fuel line ID with the threads coated with silicone sealent. Shove it in let it cure for several hours. This is a permanent fix until the hose gets old again years later.

I used the bronze-colored small engine fuel hose available at the Home Depot. It lasts longer than the proper MB part and has never leaked in at least 7 years. Costs a lot less too.
