Mercedes diesel VS Monte Carlo SS!

I would have probably been more impressed if it was an older Mercedes of the same vintage as the Monte Carlo. |
that mb is sweet! i must say though, those monte's arent very fast =o(

It wasn't a grand national.
Gotta love those comments on the video, especially the GMC work van guy. :rolleyes:The CLS will sure burn many cars in any weather. A wet weather drag race appears to be a battle of the computers. :D |
I actually believe the 240D comment.:D

I didn't know they even made a CLS320CDI. MB doesn't import a lot of their good models.
Those Monte Carlo's were total junk, my friend had an 85 with a 305 back in high school. Total dog. A mid 90's V6 Camry spanked it. When you get owned by a Camry, thats just sad.:D |

Ahh yes, a stock Monte is not very exciting. However, give me any GM 80's V8 with that chassis and $5K to spend and I'll show you 10 second quarter miles. Can't do that for that money with ANY MB. Yep, I can hear the BS rumbling now, Domestics suck, etc. etc. Those that say so have never been in a 9second street legal car. And there is nothing so satisfying than blowing the doors off some yahoo stockbroker type in his imported sports car with 1960's technology. RT

By the '90s they had fuel injection and computers sorted out enough to make decent hp. However, now that the Montes are getting up to 20+ years old, you can play with them and make some serious HP out of them. I do agree that a Buick GN would have been a much hotter car. A buddy turned the boost up on his and intercooled it back in '88 or '89. with 22psi it blew away everybody else. (got 4mpg on avgas but ROCKED!) |
