Oil leak... getting tired of all the problems...

There's definitely an oil leak, but where from, I have no idea. It had miraculously stopped leaking for a time, but it has started back up. Pretty much the whole bottom of the car is saturated in oil new and old. I have no idea what to do, and I'm sure I don't have nearly enough money to submit her to a mechanic, professional or not.

Step one:
Take it to a car wash and spray everything clean. If necessary, take a set of ramps, put it up on the ramps to get everything really clean.

Step two:
Drive it a short distancce.

Step three:
Look for leaks starting at the top of the engine at the valve cover gasket.

I presume the engine will have to be cold before spraying the water everywhere?

The car wash I use is about a half mile from my house. I drive there and wash away without cooling down the engine.

Yeah, doesn't need to be cold, just be careful with the lines, fuel, vacuum electrical. These engines leak, cam cover, front crank seal are two of the usual suspects.

Oil leaks at the bottom of the engine:

Turbo oil return (especially bottom grommet) passenger side
Oil pan gasket
Oil filter housing (where it attaches to the block) driver's side

others

oil cooler lines
cam cover gasket (very top of engine)
oil fill cap on cam cover
breather tube that runs from cam cover to center of air cleaner assembly
turbo wastegate tube (rubber tube runs just below and across the big plastic elbow from air cleaner to turbo inlet)
the oil drain tube that snakes from the bottom of the air cleaner assembly across towards the front of the engine by the turbo and then down into the oil pan on the turbo side of the engine

lots of little places to check - as mentioned - good thorough degrease and go from there

Check the front main bearing seal behind the pulley, not too bad to replace. Tighten up the oil pan bolts etc. Oh yeah use the degreaser that foams up it seems to "stick" better.
