I have been having problems with getting air in my fuel system. I narrowed it down to the fuel pump. I started by replacing all of the crush washers, then rerouted the fuel line to skip it (I didn't know it was the pump at the time) and it ran fine. I drove for a few weeks like that, but when a mechanic looked at it, informed me of it's purpose, I figured I should get it fixed. Yesterday, I installed a completely new pump and and another new primer of course with new crush washers. The thing started leaking again!!! I can see the air bubbles in the clear return line.
This problem has been plaguing me for 2 months now, and I am frustrated beyond belief. I am about to do the unthinkable and take it to a mechanic. I was talking to the guy today and he said he has never heard of anything like this before either. Any thoughts?
