300CD donor seat suggestions needed!

Is it possible for me to pull both front seats from an '82 300CD

and replace them along with the rails with any other make vehicles coupe front seats?

As of today , my drivers seat is pretty shot, and I think that 2 newer seats from a newer model may give more comfort than 25 year old seats in there now.

Thanks, AA

Yeah but he's gotta have quick release seat fold/down levers to access coupe back seat. If it was me, I'd shop MB SL or SLC seats into the 300CD.

At least more common than finding CD seats.

Will SL or SLC seats fit in my CD? or even be made to fit in a CD?

Thanks,AA

I have put W126 seats into a W123, this was in a sedan mind you, but I think you should be able to put SEC seats into a CD. but you need to keep the CD's seat rails.

Its not overly difficult, I posted a thread about it almost a year ago.

I think several have mentioned putting 126 seats in a 123

slk seats

1996 to 2004 slk seats are fairly small and should fit anything. Was a black pair on E-bay....maybe they did not sell...were about $100.

Regards

the CD seats unlock and allow to be folded forward when the front doors are open.. do the SEC seats do that as well?

Yes, I've got an '85CD and an '85SEC. Not being at home right now, I'd guess that the SEC seats may be a little wider, not to mention the electric controls mounted in the door.

I didnt say it would a a direct perfect fit, there will have to be some fabing, For one, even if you switch the seat rails you have no method to control the rear tilt, which necesatiats a 3 way switch and 12V power source.

I have just finished adapting 2nd gen W126 seats to a first gen 83 300 SD.
The only thing i had to rig up was the electronic headrest extension.

Maybe the seat bottoms, but the backs need to tilt forward. They separate.

my friend put SEC seats in a w123c.

Take the rails from the CD seats put them on the sec seats, ditch the electronics.

Or you can be really cool and hook up the electric adj. seats.

Good luck
