uh oh... sunroof windflector issue

I have a good wind deflector and my original(i think) which doesnt pop up so here is what I did

I removed the good one from the head liner frame we pulled from the pnp. then I removed the one from my car. I then attempted to install the new one into my car and.. guess what.. its a little too wide

check it out

top is the OG ( starts out with a 126 part #)

bottom is one from the euro W123 (starts with a 123 part #)

I'm thinking if I just dremel the excess off I should be good to go.

what do you think?

I lined them both up and they are the exact same width.. its just that shaft on the 123 version is a tad bit too long.

So you're saying your shaft is too short and you don't know what to do with a long one? Can't help you there...

Sorry, had to. Honestly I'd line them up and if it comes to the same location with all the same geometry I'd just dremel it...Careful though, you did pay so much for it.

yea..they are essentially the same in every aspect(well the 123 one is all metal where as the 126 one is plastic.. which I broke!)

my neighbor cannot find his dremel so .. I'll buy one for myself.. I've been meaning to.. as well as rent a steam cleaner...

I paid what.. $100 for the stuff ^_^

I have one. They are really nice and you can use them for tons of things. I actually bought mine to use making trim molding to go in a doll house I made for my daughter.

I have my milky trim on my car and I know part of it is removable without spending an hour or two removing the door from the car... I want to strip the trim and just buff it every week so it shines like it should..

I bought a Dremel 10.8V cordless rotary tool.. plus it has a lithium ion battery.. waaay better than the NiMH in the other one they had on the shelf

I bought the polish attachment as well as heavy duty cutting discs(plus it came with stuff)

the quick start manual shows a hand model using a dremel to polish the grill trim on a W115 !!! nice!!

Enlighten us with your results. did the Dremel do the job for you?

Also how did the wind deflector work out for you?

I have two Dremels, a cordless and one I plug in. there are a lot of things
these tools can do for us. I forget about the darn thing most of the time.
the cordless I take to P N P. along with my Makita drill.

I use the cordless most of the time to sharpen the Chain saw.
