A little off topic...but it does apply

A friend of mine just totaled his euro spec AMG 82 280SEL. Now, you all might be wondering why I am posting this here. Well, it is fully equiped with a five speed manual tranny. The engine and 99% of the body is still good. The entire interior is perfect. This car came with 13 way adjustable Racarro (SP) seats in the front.

I took a look at the car today and the front bumper, headlight assemblies and their mounting brackets, hood, radiator, etc. are done. Believe it or not, the quarter panels are perfect.

I have driven this car, before the wreck and it drove like a dream. If any of you are interested in a conversion project, let me know. I can get you in touch with the owner.

This is all really sad. Aparently this is a very rare car and it was gorgeous until his son rear-ended someone. I gave serious thought to buying the car and fixing it, but I don't know how to do body work...welding and such.

Someone should buy it and fix it. Try posting in the "for sale" forum here. Maybe list it on ebay if he doesn't know anyone who's interested.
