Help with valve adjustment

Can anyone in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area help me with a valve adjustment on my car (1984 300D Turbo, 4-pd auto)? I will pay for your time. Thanks.

It's not a hard DIY project. Did you check out the procedure at www.dieselgiant.com?

Yeah, not a big deal, an assistant helps! These are usually tight, loosen top nut, screw in lower nut, back out till appropriate clearances are met, tighten. If the the large keep spins, use a screwdriver wedged against whatever, to hold in place, have a new gasket, just in case.

Jazz:

I've posted a few pictures too.

I get down that way occasionally as our corporate office (Martin Marietta) is by Rex, sister in east Raleigh and daughter at Chapel Hill. If you want to bring it up here, I'll go through it with you. I have a heated garage, wrenches & all the manuals for 123's & 126's. Will not accept any $.

Welcome to the forum, see you been here for a yr and first post.

Not a big deal to adjust, little scarry at first maybe. just have the
proper tools, like the bent 14mm and the feeler gauges. make a drawing
of the valves or print Diesel giants. follow his pictorials and you will do
fine.

Don`t get the intake and exhaust mixed up, easy to do .
Just start with the first one and move down the line. then recheck ea
one after you are done with the feeler gauge.

Charlie

Merry Christmas

Thanks Mjornir for the valve adjustment lesson. The car runs much more smoothly now. I am really fortunate to be a member of this forum.
