Yup, that's when the 190D "took over" for the 240D in the US market.

You're right. I appologize. They produced them up until 85', but stopped importing them in 83'. The reason I'm asking is I've been trying to find a good automatic transmission for my 82'. I found a local Craiglist vehicle that claims to be an 85'. Engine is shot, but the tranny is in good shape.

I doubt it's a '85, but the tranny is probably correct regardless of year.

The 240D was not imported into the US after 83, but they were built. My 85 was imported from the Netherlands.

Found a 1980 240d with an auto tranny will this tranny work on my 82 240d?
