How the heck do you fix this!!!! pic's
Help.
How this happens is as much a mystery to me as how to fix it. There must be an easier way than disasembling the entire seat belt....( pic is a backwards seat belt clip...) I am sure the MB dealer sells a 5 gallon pail of German seat belt cliip grease that allows me to easily slip the belt through the 1/8" opening.....lol [IMG][/IMG] AA

I've simply folded a section of the belt over itself tightly and worked the clip over the fold. Happens a lot! Your clip looks more substantial than mine, so that method may not work.

It's happened many times to me as well. There's no easy way other than Trip's method.

Ditto. That is a simple 10 second fix. I have to replace my entire seatbelt assembly to fix my broken belt clip.

For some reason mine ends up backwards every-time my kids ride in the back seat, I don't know how they do it.

I must have either thick seatbelts or very thin clip openings.
Of course I tried this, over and over ......etc...... Then I even tried it with very thin flat tipped pliers....... not even close. When I fold the belt to flip it, the belt doesn't even have room to fold in half. Impossible!!! ..

I actually had one of those impossible to flip buckles. I would not recommend taking apart the belt to turn it over. Once you take it out of the spool it will take you several hours, or several pair of hands, or both to put it back together (ask me how i know).
I just learnt to live with it... afterall it is the 3rd row seat buckle in the wagon!

My fiance always twists the passenger belt on my car too! I also don't get how they do it. I've never done that to mine....oh well. One of my rear ones is twisted too.

Fold and feed through one slot at a time so you're not going around the bar and curving, works better for me.

Sounds like the only way to fix this is to make the opening wider without cracking the clip open. So either file down the black plastic top or the metal piece on the bottom. If I file down the plastic it will weaken too much, so what would be the best way to file down a not so thin piece of solid metal in such a small opening??? And with out cracking the plastic while I do it??? AA................ As far as how it happens, if the opening is wide OK. But when it's too narrow to even come close to flipping it, it is a mystery only wives and fiances know the answer to.
