Brake boost not boosting....

I need to do a couple things before I start driving my TD, first on the list is the brakes. I am getting the lining light to come on under hard braking so I think the front pads need changing ( I looked at the rears and they have lots of pad) but more importantly I am not getting any boost.

Either bad booster or bad vacuum source.

Is your car shutting off when you turn the key off?

Yes = booster

No = vacuum pump/vac line/vac leak.

I posted on your other thread yesterday.
Booster and shut off are interconnected. Booster could be bad causing the slow shut off. However, both being bad could be caused by a common problem such as a disconnected line or bad vacuum pump. First step is to visually inspect the main vacuum line going from the pump to the booster. If that looks ok then you'll have to get a Mity Vac and start checking vacuum levels in the system.
