Just curious-how vocal are you WVO guys about running it in your car? I read a while back about the old guy with the Rabbit diesel that had his state's revenue office show up at his door-apparently they wanted back fuel taxes numbering in the thousands, for road taxes he didn't pay by using waste veg and not the Crown's approved fuel.

I am going to eventually switch to this stuff, but I'm sure I'll stay low key-I want my supply lines plentiful and to keep The Man off my back.

Posting your intentions on a public forum is a good way to start staying low-key. Don't worry, we won't tell anyone.

Or, pay your due taxes to help us (the taxpayers) maintain the roads and prevent yourself from becoming a possible felony and/or misdemeanor excise and sales tax evasion criminal.

Which is just below what diesel fuel costs, WITHOUT TAXES added onto it. I have been paying $3.21/gal for it here for the past month. Pay your fuel taxes!

When you account for the lower mpg's, potential engine damage, gelling risks, and tax evasion, that is not at all a better deal than regular dino.

I didn't want this to turn into a WVO flame thread and almost posted that at the start. With my 11 other cars I pay plenty in fuel taxes. The bottom line is they aren't making anymore dinosaurs so the fossil fuel is going to run out. If they sold filtered WVO at the pump, I would be the first in line buying it and paying taxes on it. Whether people like it or not, alternative fuel is coming. Our great grandchildren will be amazed at the wars we fought over oil as they will be using efficient, clean fuel. I'm not a militant tree hugger, I just try to use some common sense.

So why don't you just burn taxed biodiesel? You can get that at the pump and you don't have to hack your car up. That seems like a good compromise to me and makes good common sense.

Would love to, but there is none available in my area. Also, I don't think B10 is a good compromise. The car isn't hacked, it's modified with a second tank to run the fuel the engine was designed to run on in the first place.

We have 1 micron filtered / dewatered oil for $1.75 a gallon. That is with the 24.4 cents for federal tax you have to pay.

As long as your paying your tax's your all good.

LOL. Had to take a break from christmas present wrapping for my kids, this one gave me a good laugh. Did you guys buy your Exxon stock too high or something???

The harm you are doing to the roads with your 3500 lb vehicle distibuted over 4 tires is is a real deal breaker as compared to the fact that you no longer need to pay $3.30 for every gallon to the same guys that wanna kill us on a daily basis. Excellent point.

As for your original post, buying the fry-daddys for $10 to get the oil...thats cool I can appreciate a good deal. Sell the stuff on ebay!

You really need to look into filtering and using waste VO in a 2 tank set up though. Heres a waste product thats getting illegally dumped down the sewers all the while we needless pander to oily dictators in foreign countries.

I spend about 1 hr per week to filter 25 gal of the stuff. Thats about $75 NOT sent to go old OPEC and I donno, at least one $300,000 SAM to blow up Al Queda. You pour it thru a filter sock and let it settle. Not tooooo tough.

I feel pretty good about knowing I took a lousy socket wrench set and a well thought out kit and the Benz can run this stuff even better than diesel. Before you say "For how long" I'll answer - its been a year and 650 gallons of waste veggie. Next year it will be 1300 gallons and I'll keep you posted.

And look how much $$$$$ Im saving congress?!@

Hahaha. Merry Xmas y'all. Even the non-believers...

Out here in southern California I have never herd or read of any one being caught using SVO/WVO. I believe there is a huge gap between the law and enforcement. The focus on enforcement is aimed at the Big Rigs not the small fry.
I also think that most people would not believe that a Mercedes owner would put SVO in their fuel tank.

That kinda goes along with one of my Dad's little bits of marital advice. Remember son, if you really don't want to do a chore, do a piss poor job of it the first time. You will not be asked again.

That works with my wife, but my mother made us re-do them...
