Found a decent deal on Veggie Oil!

The spousal unit drug me in the local Target the other day against my feeble protests. Anyway, while carrying her purse and walking three steps behind her as she touched every damn piece of clothing in the store, I looked up and saw.......Turkey Fry Kits! They contained a Cajun injector, two bottles of pretty good marinade and a pouch of Cajun style stuffing.

Upon further review, the kit also contained THREE GALLONS of VEGETABLE OIL! Regular price $39.99, on clearance for $9.99! Had a 10% off coupon so the kits came to $9.00 or $3.00 a gallon plus all the other stuff that comes with it.

I now have 51 gallons of oil, 34 bottles of marinade, 17 Cajun injectors and 17 pouches of Cajun stuffing. I was told that most Targets are closing them out at this price so it may be a pretty good deal if you don't want to mess with collecting and filtering in the cold.

As an added bonus, a guy on Craiglist sold me 100 gallons of filtered grease delivered for $50 in three nice plastic barrels. He was moving and had to get rid of it. I got grease for the next year!

So what did she say as you were loading 17 turkey fry kits into the cart?

Can't repeat that on a family forum. She has been raising hell all week for me to get them out of her SUV!

Nice! Great story. I'm wondering if installing those Cajun injectors in your ride might not work better for you than the Bosch ones you have right now?

Nearly the price of biodiesel, doesn't seem worth it to me

Go get yourself some waste oil for free and filter and dewater

And As An Exceptional Bonus To This Plan....

You will not be asked to go shopping with her again

That kinda goes along with one of my Dad's little bits of marital advice. Remember son, if you really don't want to do a chore, do a piss poor job of it the first time. You will not be asked again.

Regards

Run-Em

To cold to do that here. The stuff is sludge and I don't have a heated place to filter it. At $3.00 a gallon, it's much cheaper than RD.

My dad and I both got a kick out of this story... but it's things like this that make me very, VERY glad I burn diesel from a fuel station.

At target instead I found a box of oil lableled frying oil. Contains peanut, canola, sunflower and corn oil. 3 gallons 5 bucks not on sale. So i had them bring five from the back of the store and got a great deal on fuel. 1.33 a gallon!
