But it may look diffrent from the W123 seat and will be electric rather than manual which will require some wiring.

YES, no doubt about it it will fit. I would replace the seat tracks with the
ones off of the TD. That will retain your manual seat control. Also, if it is just the spring, why not just change that and keep the rest of the TD seat. It's not that hard to do.
