'87 300SDL power problem...

When I had the car taken to a MB dealership for the trap ox. removal, they said the car needed a lot of help. The guy sounded more like a smart mouth more than anything. :smartass2 Everything he named, I've replaced, he also said there were too many problems to list, but everything that he remembered to list, I've taken care of.

But the one thing he did say, which doesn't make any sense, is that the car has no power because of low boost. Now I'm not sure how exactly turbo boost works, but my PSI gauge reads 10-12 PSi easily when stomped, but has no power.

Any ideas? Maybe bypass a vacuum system component, or clogged line somewhere?

ANY help or replys are greatly appreciated!! :D

Do a 0-60 time so we know exactly what "no power" means for that vehicle.

The '87 has "no power" relative to the '86. It runs a 12.7 0-60 time and it's got a new head and valves on it. My current thought is that the catalyst is restrictive of the exhaust flow and preventing the engine from accelerating properly.

The other possibility is late IP or camshaft timing, but, it would need to be quite late to really affect the 0-60 times. You ought to check it just to be sure.
