Window wiring conundurm...
 

Hello everyone, Hey, do any of you have any ideas on why the power on my drivers side front window and passenger side back window would fail at the same time? I have a feeling they are linked. They go through different switches on the console. I replaced the old driver side window console switches when the driver front window quit working. When I replaced the switch with a new one, the back drivers side window started to work, but the passenger rear window quit working, and the drivers side front window still doesn't work. It would be nice to find a circuit and blown fuse connecting the L Front and R Rear together. I put a 12V power supply directly on the motor in the driver's door, and the motor ran fine. So the problem is in the wiring. Geez, it would be a hassle to run a new wire from the console, around to the side of the car, and into the door... I HOPE there is a better way! Anybody know of any 'hidden' fuses, or any other reason for this kind of gremlin? ~Levon~

Not sure about the 123, but on the 124 the fuse does the driver front, passenger rear. MB did it that way on purpose.

I know for sure the W123 windows are wired so that the left front and rear right windows share one fuse, while the right front and rear left share another.

Check the fuse. actually take it out and give it a look. Been there, done that, got four working windows to show for it. :)

Yes, fuse. Even if it looks good, replace all with copper ones, peace of mind...priceless.
