merry christmas to all....
that celebrate it.
Got another fun one.pulled the rear windscreen the other day.gasket and all as one btw.fixing notorious trunk leak from glassframe corners nd faulty rear defrost, decided to poke around trunk and see what else was screaming for attention.found a small bit just above push button for trunk lock.not to severe, but since I am there.Well upon further inspection it dawns on me that I do not know how to lift up the hard black plastic cover looking up at me when I open trunk.have looked in parts sources for proper name.no help there.I will try and place it more exactly....stick key in lock, turn key and push to open trunk.while standing at rear looking DOWN at key there is a black plastic cover that sits over the actual lock mechanism and stretches from "corner to corner",anyone know how it comes off without breakage? |
part id help here....
little help with the part removal and id please.

The number on the part itself, 123 698 00 89. It can be carefully pried out, and "pops" in.

Hey man that part comes out pretty easy. It has a couple of "ears" that pierce the trunk carpet holding it in place, Start a small flat blade pocket screwdriver under it from the inside and work your way down and back (side to side, corner to corner) a little at a time so as not to break the ears. When you reinstall, hook the outer lip in first and push/ pull the piece back in placeuntil it pops in. You can always go to the junkyard for practice first.:D Merry Christmas.

And a festivus for the rest of us!

10 days ago my computer would open Adobe pdf's, now it won't. So I can't access my FSM. Where's that aluminum pole? |
And happy holidays to you too!
Cheers, Bill |
