Where is the engine shock located??...I cannot see it on my 1978 240D.

I answered my own question with grease all over my hands.

On my vehicle there is NO engine shock. There is a rubber bushed coupling between the engine block and the frame cross member located directly behind the oil pan.

I finally figured out that I had to unbolt two 13mm bolts on this coupling to allow my engine to raise relative to the frame to install new engine mounts.
