Correct Vacuum pump on 300 model

If my memory was right, there was a post about the correct vacuum pump to have installed in our cars. It seemed that the old style could come apart and damage the engine. I couldn't find it with the search engine, does anyone know where that link is? I'm attempting to find out if I need to replace / up grade my vacuum pump it is the one with the screws on the front. It's not smooth faced at all.

Thanks

Yes the new one has the four torx screws on the face, the one for the 603 engine. I believe there was some talk in that thread about the early new models with the screws, not being as good as the ones you can buy now.

I believe the vacuum pumps are different on the 617 and the 603. I believe he has a 603.
