before you cut your expensive cable, try loosening the adjuster nut which takes pressure off of the gear clutch and turning the shaft of the cable gear (sticking out the side with the nut) to see if it will move. if that doesnt work, remove the sunroof motor bolts and the backing plate bolts and remove the motor from the cable, this will free the cable to move. then you should be able push the sunroof closed. the most likely culprits will be the gear on the sunroof motor that drives the cable, the gear drvien by the motor worm or the motor itself, if you cut the cable you will be replacing everything.
