Engine Thumping

I finally got the thing running! After a head gasket, delivery valve o-rings, engine mounts, radiator flush, engine oil and filter change (Mobil 1 5-40 3 qt, Mobil delvac 1300 15-40 4 qt), oil spinedel o-rings, fuel filters, glow plugs, glow plug rely, and a bunch of minor things. Before starting it I filled the main filter with Power Service fuel conditioner. It took about 10 tries for 15 second intervals to get it started. (It was over 4 hours of time) It started and seemed ok once the idled smooth out.

Now it has a loud thumping and i can't figure where it is coming from. Or what it is. all I know it it does not sound good

Hope the video is ok, Kinda hard to see. I loosed all of the lines to the injectors from 1-4.

Thanks for any input

sounds like you have really tight valves, try adjusting them again.

Hydraulic cam followers on a 190D 2.2. No adjusting other than replacing the follower. My '84 had the same noise and I replaced a follower and the noise went away. Then again, I could be wrong and probably am.
