Autoworks in Lee, NH

Hi guys,
I just moved to New Hampshire and need some service work done. I checked the site for reliable NH mechanics and "Autoworks" in Lee, NH was mentioned but there was no address or phone number. I can't find anything in the yellow or white pages.

Does anyone know any more info for this indy or someone else in the nearby area for basic service (oil changes, brakes, etc.) Thanks!

Hi CW,

I'm not familiar with Autoworks and can't seem to dig up any contact info on them. If you don't mind the trip over to Manchester, I highly recommend Amoskeag European on Front Street (669-7750). I drive 45 minutes from Milford when needed and it's well worth the trouble. Amoskeag has free (MB/BMW) loaner cars, too.

Pat is the owner of Amoskeag so ask for him if you want.

They do know they're stuff though they are not above trying to sell you more than you need...just be mindful of that if they come back with recommendations of needed repairs. They replaced the timing chain on my 560SL and recommended that I have the heads rebuilt and headgaskets replaced when they noticed a very small oil leak from the back of the left head...basically this is a very common leak and other than a drop or two of oil on the garage floor caused no problems and the car ran absolutely perfectly and in no way needed a valve job.

Basically they were trying to turn an $800 job into a $4000 one. When confronted they sheepishly admitted it didn't really need the work but felt the car was kept so nicely that they thought I'd want it perfect. Nice thought, but like I said, it was unnecessary work and perfection is not something sane people strive for on a 20 year old car.
