Fun day at the garage

I drove out to the UCF, longwood area to go to my friend Pierre's garage. He works strictly on pre 93 model year MBZ's... anyways.. I wanted to get my idle set right so we needed to do the engine mounts.. Easy... put them in and made some makeshift heat shields. My engine shocks were toast so we ran over to his parts guy in Longwood to pick them up among other items. They did not have the top mount so Those are coming to me in the mail.. The old mounts were crushed. Well the passenger side one was obviously crushed, the drivers side was showing stress marks.

One thing he noticed was I leaked some tranny fluid and a closer inspection shows it to be the front pump seal... not good.. I have to watch my fluid level closely until we get it replaced. The plan of action is going to be pull the tranny and re-seal it. I might just see about rebuilding it at the same time if I can get a spare transmission to use.. or something.. I'll figure it out.

I traded him my old palomino interior for some parts and odd things.. like a complete set of 14" bundt wheel covers.. yes.. a good set to boot!.. They just need some paint(they are a little faded).. I was like.. ooh oooh rare( I think)

Pete also has a factory two tone W115 220D on his lot as well.. its in need of some TLC but it has potential.

Next up is get those engine shocks in and lower that idle, granted the rack dampener pin is still good

Joe...if you want a spare tranny to mess with, drop by tomorrow and I'll give you a hand pulling the tranny outta the '79 280ce. If I can get cracking on it fast enough, it'll be gone tomorrow as well.

I wish I had the time to.. I have to go to kissimme at 10 to pick up some stuff from greyhound.. I wonder if removing the tranny from a CE is as hard as a CD or any other W123 diesel.. I also wonder if its the same as the one I have now.. yarrrrr...

anywho.. here are some pics

I saw that and was like.. I am going to make one!

Pete's Factory White on Signal Red W115 220D

I had 'bundt-look' hubcaps on my '80 euro 300d, I thought they WERE actual bundt wheels, until the first time I had to remove a wheel... they are quite convincing and the steel rim w/ hubcap is the lightest weight wheel available.
