New injectors or rebuild?

Hello all.

I am the very proud owner of a W115 240D. I'm going to change out the injectors in the very near future. Basically I've been looking around for options and all I've seen are reman Bosch units. Now, from reading on here every day for the past 3 months I've come to the conclusion that the reman Bosch units are POS (India manufacturing I believe, or is that just the nozzles?). Are there any other options in terms of new injectors for the 115 240D?

Earlier on I was considering just rebuilding the old units with Bosio nozzles, but I think I would rather just swap out the entire thing (with Bosio nozzles either way). What do you guys think?

Test them first to see if they even need to be replaced/rebuilt.

I would find a local diesel shop to bring them into- have them checked. then, if they need repair, you could either do it yourself, and have them set pressures, or have them do it all.

last time I brought in a set to get checked, they wouldn't even take my $$- of course I don't live in NYC

or get/ build a poptester.

Dont forget heat shields.

If they need rebuilt, always better to buy new if your budget allows.

Yeah I read on this forum that the re-manufactured India injectors were N.G. Bought 5 of the India ones anyway from Phil (~$50 ea) probably over a year ago and no problems. I had a lot of miles on the old ones with nailing so bad that I could hear the air cleaner rattling when I climbed hills. Maybe someone with different results will post.

Yep, test them first. Use your local diesel inj svc shop. They deal with it everyday.

This way, you are not bashing XYZ for bad nozzles if you DYI'd. IMHO, if you have the experts do the work, there's a good chance it'll be done right. And in case it goes bad then you have someone to go back to.
