nooo... my car...

Well today i just installed my new clutch master cylinder, working perfectly, felt great did a few doughnuts in the snow to celebrate all was good. So i washed the car got the wheels real well and sprayed the car down allot. Well i went after that to go turn in some applications and before i left the driveway i hit some black ice and slid into a tree doing about 30mph in second gear. My poor car, i wasnt wearing a seatbelt so i went forward and my head hit the windshield putting a nice crack in it. It was running so well too, but i guess its good because i found a newer, better 240d for 200$ with a bad engine, perfect!

Sad day it is..

Glad you were able to walk away from it. Good luck on your new project and try to stay away from those infernal pop-up trees.

Dang that was a hard hit! Think you'll be wearing that seatbelt in the "new" 240?
Please photo-document the engine swap, and the transformation from one car to the other.
Glad you weren't seriously injured. Sorry your car was........

**edit**
{vulture swoops in}
btw, don't just throw away that heater valve if you don't need it on the "new" one.
{vulture swoops out........}

30 mph is a VERY HARD hit. glad you hit it at an angle to deflect/spread the inertia. I don't think I have ever moved a car other than in my driveway without buckling the seat belt, and I know I never have in the MB's that time buckling the belt is perfect glow plug warm up time... I hope you don't have any follow up pain from the head bang. did you go to the hospital and get yourself looked at?
it's amazing how much those roads and trees move into our way this time of year.

Sounds like a good idea jimmy, lol this will be the Third car this engines been in, i got this engine from a junkyard and put it into this one, now its going to be transplanted into the new 240d, luckily this new 240d has a rebuilt 4speed tranny in it! perfect! As for the seatbelts.. yeah i think i will be wearing a seatbelt from now on as a reminder ill think of my head everytime the glowplug light turns on. Oh and btw those little cracks you see in the windsheild.. yeah thats my head xD

**Edit**
haha, jimmy alot of people have been asking for parts on the car, as soon as i get the new car and figure out what it needs, ill be happy to send you guys some parts (Sadly the heater valve on this car was bleeding antifreeze maybie it stopped, but you can have it if you want its the mechanical one)

We're a sorry lot sometimes, aren't we? China's heater valve was leaking so I replaced it with the one from Scar. Uh, that one is now leaking also......
I'll see if maybe PNP has one. I don't think I should wait on this too long now that I think of it. But hey, this thread ain't about me........

Dang that was a hard hit...... Glad the jaw didn't whack the top of the steering wheel.

Ouch. I know that feeling. Man your head sure did a number on that windshield! Good luck with your project swap. I'm going through the same thing with a pair of '85's. Its a lot of fun and really lets you get to know the car.
