Wagon Hatch Lock Question

What is the electric supply to the rear hatch lock assembly for?

Thank you
Don

I think it controls the dome light for the cargo area. Forgot if the license plate light wiring is also along the same route but should be close.

It is indeed for the light. There is a microswitch connected to the latch mechanism.

Need to trace it out and see why it isn't working.

I assume that when the catch rolls out (as the hatch lock opens) it throws the switch and remains on with the hatch being open.

Thank you for the info!

Don
