Autozone isn't carquest--if one specifies the worldpac part number, I'd be surprised not to get the right part.

I have no doubt, I bought my alternator before Carquest bought Worldpac.

I'd rather just order it from Fastlane to support this site.

$184(importec) vs. $216(fastlane) that's a ton of support-17.3% to be exact.

Alright, took the car to autozone and had them check the alternator out. It turned out the alternator is what was wrong. So on the way home the windshield wipers stopped working and window would not got up. Of course it was pouring rain, drove home with no wipers and window open. Threw the charger on battery and topped it off, tried to put window up and still nothing. Could this be from bad alternator?

Iam about sick of this car.

If the alternator rectifier diodes are shorted verse open, you'll have issues until the alternator is disconnected from the system, including your battery charging effort. How do you know your battery even took the charge? The charger with shorted alternator diodes is going to show a huge load, and the battery isn't going to charge and will most likely to go dead in short order. the window lift motors and the wipers are high current draw users, your alternator is a big hole your battery current is flowing INTO, rather than out of. Not surprising to see them inoperative, radio probably works and lights are really dim, no?

Do you have a digital VOM for troubleshooting?

Like I posted 10 days ago, its the alternator. How did Autozoo test it? What did they put a meter on the battery?

All of this is going to kill the battery so I'd replace it too.

Did the new alternator come with a new voltage regulator or did they put the old voltage regulator into the new alternator?

I'm with markg612. At the first sign of electrical strangeness, change ALL the fuses (<$10). Don't check the old ones, just throw them out. If the strangeness persists, replace the voltage regulator (<$40). All you need is a screwdriver (and disconnect the battery). If you still have strangeness, then seek help.

No offense intended but either find someone who knows how to fix your car or trade it for a Buick if you want Autozone to fix it.

I'll admit kudos for the Autozone crew if they figured out the serpentine belt tensioner on their own.
