EGR differences ?

What does Mercedes-Benz do differently with their EGR systems? It seems a common issue with VW and even larger American diesel engines. I seldom read about EGR valve or EGR cooler issues with Mercedes-Benz. Do they take a "better" or different approach? Just courious.

They stick (open closed half way sometimes). Most people opt to not employ their use therefore eliminating the need to wonder about such issues.

Better in the way that a simple BB in the vacuum line can render it useless unless it is stuck open.
