om617 variations?
Hi, just wondering here...is there any difference between the engine in the w115 300d and the w123 non-turbo 300d? If so, what are the differences? I noticed that the air filter housings are different but that doesn't necessarily mean much...
Thanks in advance, KennyB 1980 300TD |

The basic engine carries the same internal components, I believe. The differences begin with air and oil filters and go on to include AC mounting differences and other accessory differences.

Oil filter, intake/exhaust manifolds, accessory mounting points, filter system, injection pump and other smaller things are different. A 115 engine will fit and work in a 123 but not the other way around.
