Pricing help 82' 240D

Nice clean car with lower miles (150K) and all the little stuff working other than CC. Any speculation?

Automatic, zero rust, very good body, its obviously been taken care of and recently had front suspension bushings replaced and tuned for emmissions, drives very well.

well....I might get flamed for this....cause I probably overpaid for mine at $2000 (also an automatic with early signs of rust cancer) with similar mileage. However, I hadn't a real clue - as this was the pre-mercedesshop chapter in my life.

However, PO had just changed battery, alt, glowplugs, injectors and other items....and it was decently maintained/documented. I'm still working out the little kinks though.

Good place to start, especially if you have the cash in hand.

zero rust is huge plus.....but no way $4k for an automatic. I haven't checked the "what are people paying for their mercedes" thread lately - but that's a great resource too.

Sounds like you are on the right track though....good luck.

Just curious - but where at?

I just offered him 2500 as diplomatically as I could, I still think that is a little heavy for a 240, but it was really clean. Will see what happens.

good luck - I think you are in the ballpark

I paid $2700 for mine (std. transmission, very little rust, everything else working, ~250k, original owner, well-maintained)

PO was asking $5k
