Agreed - I wasn't necessarily recommending the PURCHASE of the pump there (I'll only plug fastlane) - but it was the only linkable warning against alternative fuels for the bosch pumps that I could find.

Tango - is that why you made the recommendation too? I've never had a bosch pump melt away on me but I don't want to find out the hard way.

I don't have any personal experience one way or the other, as I have not used alternative fuels. However, I have read a number of reports which recommend against the Bosch pump for biodiesel and vegetable oil. None said anthing about the pump "melting away," just that it did not work well. I have read that that bio/wvo will also attack the seals in the original style pump.

Thanks tangofox - and thanks for clarifying my sensational description. I didn't really mean the pump would "melt" away...just the seals would leak like you mentioned.

Likewise, I have no personal experience yet with anything higher than commercial B20 - although when I replaced my old, leaky pump - I opted for the "knurled wheel of death".
