Can anyone put me on to a link or thread for working on the fuel injectors, thanks much!

Get the inj's pop and spray tested. Is cheap enough and a bad spray pattern could cause the issues you describe.
Inj's dont leak typically. Return lines do. You could try cutting a 1/2" off the end of the return line you think is leaking (if its long enough) to see if that would seal it.

"I get a loud humming as I accelerate..."
Mine makes more noise than it should when I accelerate also, but I am sure mine is due to bad motor mounts. The "hum" is directly related to engine speed and I can feel it in the steering wheel.
