HAve been a MRO Buyer for the last 9 years for a Tier 1 automotive supplier, Our plant is mostly Chrysler/Jeep products and with todays anouncements from Chrysler, the outlook is very gloomy here.

In past lives I've been a Field installer for polyuretane injection equipment, traveling all over the world, hated the travel so took a job doing the buyer thing at one of my customers.

Have been a maintenance tech, working on everything from bar blenders to heavy industrial presses, and everything in between.

Fulltime college student.

I'm in the process of starting a real estate devlopment and investment company (the Southern New England Land Company), hoping to have it off the ground after I sell the two deals that I just took control of. I enjoy the work, and love putting together deals.

If this economy ever gets better I may one day make some real money.

I have had many jobs, when I was 12 I started a lawn care company and cut a ton of grass. That lasted until I was 15 and started to work on boats, which I still do sometimes just for fun. Than I sold real estate with Re/Max for a bit, and decided sales wasn't for me. Now I make things for other people to sell.

Oil Field Engineer

I started working in the field as a Oil Field Engineer, and was working 85+ hours a week. Now was able to get my foot in the door as an Electrical Engineer in the R&D lab. I get to play with the Detroit 12V400, Cummins QSK50, CAT 3512B/C diesel engines. Man is it fun to stand next to a 12 or 16 cylinder engine and full throttle it. 2500 HHP never sounded so sweet.

Ha! Now I understand your avatar.

I left my job as VP of Creative Services for a digital and traditional sheet-fed printer about 2 years ago to do art glass and wood working from my home studio. I hang out with my 2 toddlers all day too.

Park Operator for a local municipality - 28 years on Dec. 5th. I spent $170,000+ with guys like "sasquatchgeoff" (see post #6) last year. Certified Arborist, Certified Playground Inspector, CDL A license holder. I'm locked in pretty good there. The above credentials (plus a few more - I don't want to bore you with) should secure my job for the next 2 years until I can take the option of collecting retirement (50% of my average of the best 5 years) or hang around. The bad part is, when I do leave, the health insurance is my nut to crack every month. Too bad it will be time to leave when I am/will be finally making good money. I started out making $3.15/hour.
