Algaecide for stored bio-diesel?
I have 250 gallons of good bio in a tote and was wondering if algae can be a problem with bio and if so, should I go ahead and add a bottle of algaecide to the bio? Anyone experienced with this? Thanks!

In my experience, bio has more of a problem with algae. If the tote is being stored where it will see temp swings you are going to get some condensation and once you have a water/fuel interface you are just waiting to get an algae problem.
You probably want to add some if you plan on using it over a long period of time.

Putting a desiccant breather on the tote will help keep the moisture level down. Preventing temperature swings will help a lot also. I treat my barrels with Startron Tank cleaner, Diesel Kleen, and some Stabil. Probably overkill, but I have not had an issue with my fuel yet. My longest storage time has only been about 4-5 months though.
