Sadly, I am no longer a Dieseler

Well folks, until I can no longer stand not hearing that lovely clatter I will be driving a gasser. (unless hydrogen vehicles suddenly become available) Today I sold the 300SD. It was a wonderful ride but no longer practical for my application. I will check in on the forum every once in awhile, no way I can completely give that up... Clatter on!

It is sad to see on of us go down. MY question is this, what are you going to do on the weekends now that you don't have a MB to maintain??

William, sorry to see you go. As the father of the 2.47 diff, you're be remembered here for a long time.

Maybe you'll find another one..............

I was eyeing your ride. Did it go to a forum member?

And do you have any info, pointers and tips to your interior swap out and carputer? I'd like to do something similar to my 300SD.

Not to worry.

He'll be back.;)

Once you're hooked, you're hooked. He'll come across a deal too good to pass up.:D

Cheers,

Bill

I sold off a Mercedes diesel I had a few years back thinking the same thing. I still had a gasser Mercedes that I used in it's place so I didn't give up totally on having a Mercedes. I personally think the gasser is more practical. It's certainly cheaper to maintain. It's too bad that Mercedes didn't import gasser 123 models like the 230CE and 230E officially to the US. They get the same or even better fuel economy than the diesels and have more power as well.
I bought another diesel Mercedes last June as a project as I could not resist a good deal. Plus that was an excuse to get another diesel. Right now I like the diesel 123's more on a novelty level. I plan on keeping it around if I can get it drivable again. I'd then like to see if I can run it on Bio-D if it catches on as a popular alternative to Dino-D.

Breckman, put rocks inside your car's hubcaps or tie tin cans behind the rear bumper so you can listen to the clatter of your gasser !!
