I'm more and more convinced

there is some sort of government conspiracy regarding diesels. I have a feeling that the corporate Big Oil *******s that control government really don't like the idea of We the People being able to make our own fuels. Just like they don't like people living off the grid, etc.

You oughta see what they're doing to liveaboard sailors (another independent group) BS legislation coming down the pike in Florida...

After living in some other states I would say California has the most level headed people I have run into (politicians excepted). There are some states that I hope to never need to go to again.

They're the reason I moved away from that state 10 years ago.

If they come to ban our car in the upcoming years, Ill move. I don't know if its just ignorance, or a conspiracy, but there is always oppression of diesels in the US. I dont think they can affect our cars becuase most of ours are almost classics, and I think that exempts them from alot of things

Is it a Diesel because it doesn't have spark plugs or because you fill the tank with Diesel fuel? We can take the gun argument a level lower - guns don't kill, bullets kill. They shouldn't outlaw the car, they should outlaw the fuel.

Bottom line is they shouldn't outlaw plugless engines, diesel fuel, guns, OR bullets.

But that would make too many people happy

They can basically prevent the sale of new models and offer money to sell the govt. your old car but there is no possible way they can forcefully take your car from you simply because of the fuel it burns or the type of engine it uses.

Its so sad how all this crap can be solved by just running biodiesel. Youd think that school busses and government fleet vehicles would be doing it becuase its much cleaner. But no, theyd rather outlaw diesels instead.

Hmmm.

Sure are a lot of haters around here.

Anyway, looks like for 75 cents you could get this book:

"The Last Days of the Late, Great State of California" by Curt Gentry.

http://www.amazon.com/Last-Days-Great-State-California/dp/089174021X

I think it was published about 1969 - a while ago.

It describes in VIVID detail about how a HUGE quake literally shears off the ENTIRE state, west of the San Andreas fault.

"A giant roar, and the entire west side of the state shears off , at the steady, crunching rate of 2 miles a second, and falls into the Pacific."

The descriptions of airplanes being unable to see through the LA smog, and being unable to locate LAX airport, the surfer riding the last great giant wave, a GIANT Tsunami, into the skyscrapers of LA, make it worth the price of admission.

The smog over Los Angeles was so bad, that even with the entire City at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, it still took over a month, before the smog cleared away.

You would love that book. Go and buy it.

I personally was in San Francisco, in the middle of the October 1989 quake that wrecked that city. You could actually SEE the street turn into a giant wave in front of you, as you heard the mighty roar, and saw the telephone poles threaten to snap like toothpicks and the transformers above all explode in blue flashes, as the street turned to mush below you.

For ten long seconds, I was absolutely sure I was about to be DRT***.

***(Dead Right There).

Quite.

Tankdriver, your profile claims Columbus Ohio as home, is it not?

Your words above apply equally to the benighted city of Columbus, Ohio.

Need some proof?

Here you go, right here.

Until the temperatures get down into the 30s and you get a buch of gelling complaints.
